Study confirms rejuvenating effect of BIOEFFECT EGF SERUM

The fact that BIOEFFECT EGF SERUM restores the skin’s youthful radiance, minimises visible signs of ageing and rejuvenates the skin’s complexion has now been confirmed by an independent scientific study published in this month’s issue of the Journal of Drugs in Dermatology. According to the study, BIOEFFECT EGF SERUM significantly improves the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, skin texture, pore size, and various dyschromatic conditions.

The study was led by world-renowned authority in dermatology, Dr. Ronald L. Moy, professor of dermatology at the UCLA. The article is entitled “Improved texture and appearance of human skin after daily topical application of barley produced, synthetic, human-like epidermal growth factor (EGF) Serum”.

About the findings

Findings of Dr Moy’s three-month study, conducted on 29 women aged 39-75, demonstrated that 100% of participants saw a noticeable improvement in the appearance of their skin. After two months of use, respondents reported 44% reduction in wrinkles, 58% improvement in overall skin texture, 42% reduction in apparent pore size and 42% improvement in brown spots (pigmentation).

In an interview on Icelandic TV news, Dr. Moy said that the results were the best he has seen during his 30 years of practice: “The EGF SERUM is by far more impressive than anything I’ve seen for ageing or for tightening. In fact, it rivals some of the procedures we do to tighten skin,” Dr. Moy said.

Dr. Bjorn Orvar, CEO of Sif Cosmetics and its mother company ORF Genetics, is very pleased with Dr. Moy’s results. “When we started our research in the field of medical biotechnology more than 10 years ago, little did we know that it would lead us into the development of skin care products. But Dr. Moy’s results are yet another confirmation of how well our technology is suited for the production of pure and active skin care products, and of the resulting unique efficacy of our BIOEFFECT EGF SERUM.”

The active ingredient

The active ingredient in BIOEFFECT EGF SERUM is Epidermal Growth Factor (EGF), a skin protein well known for its ability to trigger cell renewal, assist in wound healing and initiate the production of collagen and elastin in the skin. The EGF of the BIOEFFECT EGF SERUM is produced by copying the human EGF gene into barley. The resulting barley plants produce EGF which has the same activity as EGF in human skin. This green biotechnology bypasses the risk of including bacterial endotoxins associated with conventional production of EGF in bacteria and ensures sufficient quantities of pure, active and stable EGF for use in BIOEFFECT skin care products. BIOEFFECT EGF SERUM is the world’s first skin care product to contain EGF made in plants.
